Luminous, emotive, effortlessly lyrical and always supremely refined the music and performance of Ludovico Einaudi have attracted an ever growing audience over the last two decades whose diversity and devotion are without parallel. He has released a series of chart-topping albums , sells out the most prestigious concert halls worldwide, composed a string of award-winning film scores and routinely tops audience polls becoming an internet phenomenon. With a unique musical alchemy that draws on elements of classical, rock, electronica and world musics he has rendered traditional ideas of genre and audience divide obsolete and become not only one of the best known composers in the world today but almost certainly the best loved too.

iPerf3 is a tool for active measurements of the maximum achievable bandwidth on IP networks. It supports tuning of various parameters related to timing, buffers and protocols (TCP, UDP, SCTP with IPv4 and IPv6). For each test it reports the bandwidth, loss, and other parameters. This is a new implementation that shares no code with the original iPerf and also is not backwards compatible. iPerf was orginally developed by NLANR/DAST. iPerf3 is principally developed by ESnet / Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. It is released under a three-clause BSD license.

MySQL is adding more tools to monitor its internals with every new release, but one thing it still lacks is a way to find out who is locking what, and therefore which transactions block which other ones. This is such a vital feature that I’m considering writing my own patch to the source! Still, it is possible, to a limited extent, to find out who’s locking resources. In this article I’ll explain how you can do that. This article is the second in a series on how to use the innotop MySQL and InnoDB monitor.

MySQL enables client sessions to acquire table locks explicitly for the purpose of cooperating with other sessions for access to tables, or to prevent other sessions from modifying tables during periods when a session requires exclusive access to them. A session can acquire or release locks only for itself. One session cannot acquire locks for another session or release locks held by another session. Locks may be used to emulate transactions or to get more speed when updating tables. This is explained in more detail later in this section. LOCK TABLES explicitly acquires table locks for the current client session. Table locks can be acquired for base tables or views. You must have the LOCK TABLES privilege, and the SELECT privilege for each object to be locked.

Beautiful Built-in Components. Bootstrap Studio comes with a large number of pretty components for building responsive pages. We've got headers, footers, galleries, slideshows and even basic elements like spans and divs. See some of them below. Smart Drag & Drop. Bootstrap Studio knows which Bootstrap components can be nested in one another and gives you suggestions. It automatically generates beautiful HTML for you, which looks as if it was written by hand by an expert. Create Your Own Components. You can extract pieces of your designs as Custom Components, and have them ready to be dropped into any design you create. You can also export these components as files and share them. Online Library If you need a component which doesn't exist in our library, just click the Online tab in the Component Panel. There you will find thousands of components built and shared by the community. You can also upload your own. Linked Components. This is a powerful feature which allows you to synchronize components, so changing one will automatically change the other. At the first Docker Helsinki Meetup for 2017 on January 17th, we heard about three interesting use cases of the ins and outs of how Docker is used in production at Solita, Zalando and Pipedrive. We also heard about the good, the bad and the ugly of running Docker in production. Solita's Use Case: Firstly, Heikki Simperi from Solita explained how his company uses Docker to handle the various apps and systems associated with their management of the Finnish National Railway Service (VR), as well as the problems they've run into when using Docker. Solita runs a variety of their own apps on Docker, including a navigator for train drivers, a construction notification system and a traffic controller app. Heikki reiterated that it's important for the downtime to be minimal when the apps involved are ones responsible for railway management and that "anything over a 3-5 min downtime causes delays for trains, but nobody dies". Most of the issues they experienced using Docker were related to building an image, having a private repository, removing or starting up a container, or a bug inside an app. Overall, the running usage of the Docker platform has been stable, with "zero downtime". The problems have lessened after upgrading to each new Docker version and they are experiencing less and less problems as time goes on. They are looking forward to the release of Docker 1.12 on a stable channel from Red Hat.

I’ve had a lot of success in my 20 year software engineering career with developing cross platform ‘C’ and ‘C++’ code. At Backblaze, we just released the Mac beta version of our online backup service, so I thought it an apt time to discuss my 10 rules for writing cross-platform code. We develop an online backup product where a small desktop component (running on either Windows or Macintosh) encrypts and then transmits users’ files across the internet to our datacenters (running Linux.) We use the same ‘C’ and ‘C++’ libraries on Windows, Mac, and Linux interchangeably. I estimate it slows down software development by about 5 percent overall to support all three platforms. However, I run into other developers or software managers who mistakenly think cross platform code is difficult, or might double or triple the development schedules. This misconception is based on their bad experiences with badly run porting efforts. So this article is to quickly outline the 10 simple rules I live by to achieve efficient cross platform code development.

The Streak Eagle attempts to break numerous world air records. Even if you don't like airplanes, just play it for the music. You'll notice that the Streak Eagle isn't painted, that's to reduce overall weight and make it go faster. You'll also notice that before take off, it is chained to the runway and then released. This is to build up as much potential energy as possible before the plane takes off.

This repository provides the pepflashplugin-installer package, which will download and install the newer "Pepper" (PPAPI) version of the Adobe Flash Player plugin for use with the Chromium Web browser on Ubuntu GNU/Linux. The package is similar to Ubuntu's official flashplugin-installer in that it does not include the plugin itself, but instead downloads the plugin and installs it automatically. (Specifically, it downloads the latest Google Chrome package, extracts the Pepper Flash files, and installs only those. Google Chrome itself is not installed nor otherwise used in any way.)

The public is divided over whether the leak of classified information about NSA phone and internet surveillance serves the public interest. But a majority says that former government contractor Edward Snowden should be criminally prosecuted. The new national survey, conducted June 12 - 16 by the Pew Research Center and USA TODAY among 1,512 adults, finds that 44% think that the release of classified information about the NSA program harms the public interest, while 49% say it serves the public interest.

AllMusic is a comprehensive and in-depth resource for finding out more about the albums, bands, musicians and songs you love. The design and layout has been updated, but the content and writing remains the same. We're really looking to our users to give us feedback, ideas and insight into how you are using the site. (Warning - nerdy technical caveat approaching): We've recently needed to change a lot of our back-end architecture to support the tens of millions of pieces of data we present on the site. Long-time users may have seen issues with search functionality and other core elements that we needed to fix. We've taken surveys and interviewed users (dedicated users and new users alike) and have incorporated their feedback into this new version.
