Operational Transformation library? Ask

Saved by uncleflo on June 23rd, 2017.

I'm looking for a library that would allow me to synchronize text in real-time between multiple users (ala Google Docs). I've stumbled upon Operational Transformation, which seems to fit my needs. Having said that, I understand the gist of OT, but not the math nor implementation of OT. Thus, I was wondering if there was a drag'n'drop Javascript library that would hook into a text area, generate the transforms, then allow me to apply those transformations onto another client? (I've gotten the Etherpad source, but I can't make head or tails out of it. If anyone could point out how to leverage on Etherpad's OT implementation, that'll be great too!)

We provide examples of C code for aspects of RTP sender and receiver algorithms. There may be other implementation methods that are faster in particular operating environments or have other advantages. These implementation notes are for informational purposes only and are meant to clarify the RTP specification. The following definitions are used for all examples; for clarity and brevity, the structure definitions are only valid for 32-bit big-endian (most significant octet first) architectures. Bit fields are assumed to be packed tightly in big-endian bit order, with no additional padding. Modifications would be required to construct a portable implementation.

Paul Baumann: Testatika Generator (Methernitha Group)

Saved by uncleflo on July 17th, 2014.

I am referring in the following to the model with the 50-cm diameter disks. This machine was already running when the visitors stepped into the room, and was not halted during the whole time --- we were there for about 1.5 hrs. As a first load a 1000-Watt lamp was connected for approximately 10 seconds whose brightness did NOT diminish --- the corresponding sequence on the Testatika film is just an effect of the camera aperture's automatic adjusting to the sudden brightness! The second load was a U-shaped heating element, that Mr.Baumann handed to me. It became so hot within one second that I had to put it down immediately! What was particularly impressive was that while he pulled back one of the contact wires (that was with the lamp, I believe), a 1-cm long arc appeared between the output electrode and the connecting wire for approximately one second. The apparatus was under a plexiglass hood.

Majordomo 2

Saved by uncleflo on September 12th, 2013.

Majordomo 2 is an upwardly-compatible rewrite of the popular majordomo mailing list manager software by Jason Tibbitts and Michael Yount. In this case, "upwardly-compatible" means that there is a fairly easy way to upgrade from majordomo 1. Once you upgrade, the email interface is largely the same, but almost everything else is different. It's better though.

It supports features such as DHT (Distributed Hash Tables), PEX (µTorrent-compatible Peer Exchange), and UPnP (Universal Plug-n-Play) that allow one to more easily share BitTorrent data even from behind a router with virtually zero configuration of port-forwarding.

aliasing “git” ssh login to “gitolite”

Saved by uncleflo on August 2nd, 2013.

I'm installing gitolite from CentOS packages for my client. The package creates a gitolite user, which will be visible explicitly during a "git clone" operations. The client wants to use "git" and not "gitolite", in case we change to something more fancy later. I'm not very familiar with CentOS, so I don't want to try to build the package myself from source.
