The ultimate SVG guide | PSDtoWP.net

https://psdtowp.net/svg.html

Saved by uncleflo on June 13th, 2015.

Scalable vector graphics, abbreviated as SVG, are web-based image formats which are used for vector-based-graphics whereby animations and interactivity are supported. SVG defines the graphics in XML format and when SVG's are zoomed, enlarged or scaled down the quality won’t be affected. SVG's have quite some benefits compared to normal images and canvas-based displays. SVG's aren’t often used by developers because they simply don’t know about SVG's or because they seem to be too complicated. Find below a clear overview of the various SVG benefits:

Understanding SVG Coordinate Systems & Transformations (Part 1) – The viewport, viewBox, & preserveAspectRatio

http://sarasoueidan.com/blog/svg-coordinate-systems/

Saved by uncleflo on June 13th, 2015.

SVG elements aren't governed by a CSS box model like HTML elements are. This makes positioning and transforming these elements trickier and may seem—at first glance—less intuitive. However, once you understand how SVG coordinate systems and transformations work, manipulating SVGs becomes a lot easier and makes a lot more sense. In this article we're going to go over three of the most important SVG attributes that control SVG coordinate systems: viewport, viewBox, and preserveAspectRatio.

SVG Basics Tutorials - Scalable Vector Graphics by Hand

http://www.svgbasics.com/

Saved by uncleflo on June 13th, 2015.

Welcome to the SVGBasics tutorials. Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is a standard from the W3C which is built on top of XML. The SVG standard describes ways that graphics can be drawn for use on the web. I've assembled here some examples that you can freely modify and reuse. The idea is to cover the basics with numerous examples that people can experiment with to get an idea of what SVG can do. The Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) recommendation comes from the W3C. The recommendation describes how to create vector graphics using a mark up language. Because SVG is based on XML, tools that already know how to interpret XML will be able to interpret SVG. Having this well-established standard as a foundation saves a lot of the work in defining the language. It also means that there are numerous tools around which can check the structure of an SVG document or read it to pull out interesting information.

Working in Flash and Actionscript, you will be familiar with the concepts of using the standard display list for drawing and animating content. Away3D versions earlier than 4.0 all relied on this standard display list to render objects to your scene, however since Flash Player 11.0 and Away3D 4.x you can now take advantage of GPU hardware accelerated graphics for rendering performance as commonly seen in games, allowing you to create complex and immersive experiences for the web and using Adobe AIR, on mobile devices as well.

How to Reduce Image File Size while Uploading Using PHP code? | apptha

https://www.apptha.com/blog/how-to-reduce-image-file-size-while-uploading-using-php-code/

Saved by uncleflo on April 5th, 2015.

It is common to upload the images dynamically to the websites. But when we upload the large file size image on the website, it consumes a lot of time while loading. So the developer should write the code to reduce the image file size while uploading the image dynamically to the website. Using PHP, you can easily reduce the file size of those uploaded images during time of upload. Of course, when reducing the file size we sacrifice the image quality.

When writing a ray tracer, sooner or later you’ll stumble on the problem of reflection and transmission. To visualize mirror-like objects, you need to reflect your viewing rays. To simulate a lens, you need refraction. While most people have heard of the law of reflection and Snell’s law, they often have difficulties with actually calculating the direction vectors of the reflected and refracted rays. In the following pages, exactly this problem will be addressed. As a bonus, some Fresnel equations will be added to the mix, so you can actually calculate how much light is reflected or transmitted (yes, it’s possible). At the end, you’ll have some usable formulas to use in your latest ray tracer.

The CrazyJap: All about design!

Saved by uncleflo on February 8th, 2015.

Don’t let the Jap eyes fool you I’m 100% South African, with a bit of Japanese blood running through my veins. I’m 27 years old born and bred in Cape Town, yip one of the most beautiful cities in the...dare I say whole world (hahaha). I can describe myself to be a crazy, daring, fun, happy go lucky, down to earth and friendly kind of guy...Oh and my girlfriend says I’m sweet and loving too. My friends describe me as ‘The Crazy Jap’ hence the name of my blog. Anyways, I’m not one for writing, art and design is what I do best, so what you’ll find on my blog is just that. My friends, family, girlfriend, previous educators and lecturers, have always encouraged me to exhibit my art work or share it with other people. Since I’m working towards establishing a name for myself in the design world, my blog is the one way of me doing so. Art is my medium of expression, plain and simple. My designs can be looked at and interpreted in whichever way you like.

Wake up the next day and do the same thing. It's sometimes easy to forget, even after watching the news or traveling to a foreign country, that there is a lot going on in the world outside of our small bubbles of influence. If you do not see an output below, your browser does not support WebGL. The WebGL shader code is slightly different from the GLSL code (version 1.4 ) that is used in the lecture. This is because WebGL shaders must conform to the OpenGL ES Shading Language (Version 1.0) which can be found here.

The Blinn–Phong reflection model (also called the modified Phong reflection model) is a modification to the Phong reflection model developed by Jim Blinn. Blinn–Phong is the default shading model used in OpenGL and Direct3D's fixed-function pipeline (before Direct3D 10 and OpenGL 3.1), and is carried out on each vertex as it passes down the graphics pipeline; pixel values between vertices are interpolated by Gouraud shading by default, rather than the more computationally-expensive Phong shading.
